I’m Changing My Faith

Guys, I’m becoming a Rastafarian. Christianity is a great religion, but, having conducted the Outsider Test, I am now convinced that Rastafari is the one true faith. I’m eager to discuss the merits of our religions in the future.

No, no, no…you simply don’t understand. You cannot take the outsider test and either A) believe that your Christianity has sufficient merit and continue believing, or B) accept another religion. The only acceptable response to anyone who has “honestly” taken the OTF “seriously” is that they end with an all encompassing skepticism toward everything. You see “no true scotsman” can take the outsider test and…oh, nevermind!

By the way, I thought your critique of Scott concerning the AFR (at Vic Reppert’s blog) was spot on. From his response to your critique, I think it is clear that he doesn’t understand the argument, but sees it as a “God of the gaps” explanation for consciousness, which it is not.
