The sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines is an attack not only on Russia but on the entire European Union. (Germany just can’t win.)

With this act the U.S. government is clearly doing everything it can to start a full-scale war with Russia:

The U.S. appears to have prior knowledge of the pipeline breach, as the CIA warned Germany of possible attacks over a month ago. The agency has yet to comment on the situation.

As I’ve said, however, the first, or second, nuke fired will land on Washington DC. The entire federal bureaucracy is courting instant erasure from the face of the earth.

I find that… unwise.

At least this event hasn’t been dismissed as a “conspiracy theory” or the work of a “lone nut.”

Formal equality before the law secures individual liberty equally for all, in so doing, more important, maximizing “total liberty.” People who advocate such equality are justified in calling themselves liberals (i.e., libertarians).

But equality of material possessions destroys liberty for all. People who advocate this are not liberals and call themselves such only in a deceptive attempt to mask their true intentions.

In an email Tom Woods describes a libertarian who opines that the communists in the USSR were not evil but “wrong,” and “wrong in good faith.”

This is a rather autistic view of things.

It may have been true of a small number of socialist intellectuals who were true believers. These people earnestly sought to raise the standard of living of the workers and the peasants and used an inappropriate means to that end: socialism.

But it was not true of the actual communist regimes. Beria was not animated by good intentions. William Lane Craig quotes Richard Wurmbrand:

The communist torturers often said, “There is no God, no Hereafter, no punishment for evil. We can do what we wish.”

I have heard one torturer even say, “I thank God, in whom I don’t believe, that I have lived to this hour when I can express all the evil in my heart.” He expressed it in unbelievable brutality and torture inflicted on prisoners.

Such good faith.

It’s generally very difficult to be a well-meaning moron. Your mistakes will reliably corrupt your heart.

“PayPal is a private company and can ban who it wants,” says the Left.

Yes, leftists are libertarian when it enhances their power. They are also communists for the exact same reason.

Tom Woods’ latest email is enlightening.

How can they say that a democratically elected official, or democratic organizing, is a threat to democracy?

Well, that’s because for the powers that be, in an Orwellian fashion, democracy is oligarchy.

How soon before elections themselves are labeled “undemocratic”?

The motto of the Olympic Games was “Faster, Higher, Stronger.”

The International Olympic Committee has now changed it to “Faster, Higher, Stronger — Together.”

This is obviously an attempt to demoralize athletes and weaken their competitive drive. God forbid the champions make the losers “uncomfortable.”

When will we finally be rid of communistic bullshit?

“The pandemic is over,” says Joe Biden.

Excellent. Have you had a fruitful orgy?

Are you finally bored of Covid now?

Have you ruined enough lives with lockdowns? Killed, injured, and sterilized enough people with the vaxx? Stuffed enough government cash into your pockets?

Done virtue signaling as a quadruple-vaxxed “saint”?

That’s nice. I’m glad that you had fun and that your life had meaning in these past 2 years.

Says Alex Berenson:

What’s driving the obsession in American academia with Covid vaccines is not clear. But the health of students and rational risk-benefit analysis appear very low on the list.

I think it’s fake morality: cooperate with the most absurd woke demands of the regime, or else.

Declining the vaccine is “hateful,” it makes some people “uncomfortable,” and that’s the depth of wickedness.

Case in point about Z Man’s argument.

I don’t think this is about showing people something they haven’t seen before, or shock value.

I think it’s deliberately malicious. It’s also impotent: they can’t create things that are both new and beautiful, so they defile old stuff.

Or it’s like a conquering army trying to crush the spirit of the subjugated people by destroying artifacts that give them pride or comfort in their past.

There once was a time when companies made products while taking people as they actually are.

It was assumed that if you’re the sort of guy who likes potato chips, they’d cater to your tastes; if not, not.

Now they make products the success of which requires changing people’s identities, their very souls.

You don’t like this movie? Well, you’re an evil racist and must repent and come to like it.

Z Man makes sense when he writes that much of today’s art is cultural vandalism because the vandals couldn’t make beautiful things if their lives depended on it. It’s another aspect of anti-Western, antiwhite ideologies.

On the one hand, plenty of art, including by white people, is deliberately ugly, e.g., intended to mock “capitalism” or Christianity. On the other hand, we don’t want modern savages adding to the numbers of these miscreants.

But what are we supposed to do about it? We can “refute” them. But they have a right to do these things.

One would hope that people will not pay their money to see crap like that. Amazon is still a profit-making company. They have payroll to meet every week. And this is pop culture, not some avant-garde stuff. “Get woke, go broke” is a hope that reality will at some point bite them in the ass.
