Some of those who minister to “veterans” are laboring under the delusion that there is no difference between saving innocents and killing them. For them, both are equally masculine, presumably because they involve “power.”
However, the former is true masculinity; the latter is complete betrayal of it.
Creative power to bring light into the world and destructive power to murder, plunder, and sow chaos and misery are polar moral opposites.
Case in point: “Veterans Should Never Go Hungry.”
But why? For the evil that they do, “veterans” deserve our contempt, exactly as the politicians who command them.
They should go hungry. Always.
They are no different from the Mongol Horde, an army of darkness.
The 20th century abolished warfare as an institution by converting it from a somewhat rational limited war into total war, i.e., total madness.
We libertarians must strive not to restore this dubious enterprise but to abolish it, too, except from the opposite direction of —
- demanding total international peace,
- unconditional and unilateral state pacifism, and
- measures such as abolition of the standing army, navy, and everything else.
As part of that, it will be necessary to de-legitimize soldiering as a profession.
Just as we do not romanticize slave hunters, neither do we have anything positive to say about the brainwashed killers for the state people call “veterans.”
Privately, veterans should be called to repentance and urged to atone for their crimes by making themselves useful to society within the free market.
