Regarding the attitude of “moral and intellectual superiority” to others, the more genuinely superior you are, the more you are called to serve others, to lift them up to your level or beyond. The higher you are in nature, the lower you are in grace (and of course the higher you end up in glory).

You certainly do not gloat over your greatness or express contempt toward your fellow men. Pride of this sort undermines charity and demolishes all virtues including those at which you are superior to others.
